The house that Jack built
I was fortunate to meet Jack Thy when he was our tour guide during a trip to South East Asia. We bonded over a shared love of Liverpoool FC (but don’t hold that against us).
Jack lost his mother at a young age and as a child worked in a market for just a $1 a day.
His Godmother kindly supported him so that he could fulfil his dream of being a tour guide – he was recently and quite rightly voted Waunderlust Tour guide of the year!
Due to the impact of COVID-19 on tourism, Jack has been unable to work and therefore has nowhere to live – as tour guides stay with the tourists as they move.
Jacks Godmother had left him some land in Siem Reap and the Climax Live team are over the moon to offer some support to Jack, so that he can build his own home – which he’s done with his local community in just 4 weeks!
Jack is like no one I’ve ever met. He’s thankful for life and grateful for everyday, always smiling, always happy and wants to help others before himself. Always.
This week, he’s moved in to his new home and I really couldn’t be happier for him.
